Generate a bill of quantities from a DWG file

If all you have is a DWG plan, you can still get quantities without manual take-off. Yesper converts the DWG to DXF and interprets, for example, layers, blocks, room labels and walls into a bill of quantities grouped per room – depending on what the drawing contains. A built-in self-check flags deviations. Most valuable in the design and estimating stage.

How to do it in Yesper

  1. Add the DWG file (R13–2024, including Revit exports).
  2. Ask Yesper to produce a bill of quantities and state how you want it grouped.
  3. Yesper interprets the layers and blocks and groups per room, with a self-check.
  4. Review the result in Yesper and download the Excel file if needed.

Settings & tips

  • Ask for doors/windows and walls reported separately.
  • Look at blocks flagged by the self-check (for example implausible scales).
