Generate a bill of quantities from a DWG file
If all you have is a DWG plan, you can still get quantities without manual take-off. Yesper converts the DWG to DXF and interprets, for example, layers, blocks, room labels and walls into a bill of quantities grouped per room – depending on what the drawing contains. A built-in self-check flags deviations. Most valuable in the design and estimating stage.
How to do it in Yesper
- Add the DWG file (R13–2024, including Revit exports).
- Ask Yesper to produce a bill of quantities and state how you want it grouped.
- Yesper interprets the layers and blocks and groups per room, with a self-check.
- Review the result in Yesper and download the Excel file if needed.
Settings & tips
- Ask for doors/windows and walls reported separately.
- Look at blocks flagged by the self-check (for example implausible scales).
Example prompts
