Priced on the MF, built from the drawing

Anyone pricing from a bill of quantities knows this. You price the MF as it stands but build what the drawing shows. Checking every item takes days the tender week doesn't have, so most get taken as given.

One case on our Try page: Yesper took the quantities off the drawing and set them against the MF. Trench excavation was 23.7 percent over the MF, whose volume fits a steeper slope than the type section shows. Nine of eleven items agreed and can be priced as they stand.

You price what agrees and question what doesn't, while the client can still answer. The slope assumption shows up before the deadline instead of in the trench. Same for the rest of the Try page: quantities from an IFC model, an earthwork balance with contaminated soil, a detailed estimate for a track section.
