Anyone who keeps a payroll FAQ knows this. A revision goes out, and the old answers stay with whoever got them. Nobody rereads the whole thing, so sooner or later two sections disagree, and what people keep asking is what it never covered.
One case on our Try page: a payroll FAQ app's October answer log. Yesper tested every answer against the section and revision it quoted. Two sections gave different approval deadlines, and the app handed out both. Of the unanswered questions, 14 were about drive time to job sites.
The conflict shows up in the monthly review instead of in late approvals, and the top unanswered question is queued with a section number. Same for any FAQ under revision, and the rest of the Try page: an invoice approval queue, a toolbox talk against current clearances, a RACI chart against job descriptions.
