What the meter data calls a peak

Anyone who has sized a heat pump from meter data knows this. The highest hour in the file sets the plant and the borefield, and it's rarely the right one. A catch-up reading after an outage, a Monday morning after a weekend. Nobody has time to clean the series first.

One case on our Try page: a ground-source concept for a high school on district energy. Yesper cleaned the series before sizing anything. The raw maximum was a meter error. 33 of the 50 highest hours were startups after a weekend or break; without them the peak is 22% lower.

The meter error and the Monday startups show up in the concept, not in the plant or the contract demand. Same for the rest of the Try page: a ventilation basis of design, a detention pond sized from the plat, a rerun of a settlement calculation.
