The lines that hold up month end

Month end at a contractor is always the same. Card statement, lease invoice, staffing invoice, and most lines follow the rules. The time goes to the ones that don't: a receipt with no job number, billed hours nobody logged, a cost on a job that's already closed.

One case on our Try page: October's card statement, lease and staffing invoices. Yesper coded every line to GL and job cost, allocated shared costs by labor hours and built the import file. It also found $1,644.54 in use tax to accrue, and $546.19 headed for a job closed mid-month.

The exceptions get decided before the batch posts, not when the import bounces it or an audit finds the tax. Same for any month, and the rest of the Try page: the AP approval queue, a final pay application check, claims from the site diaries.
