Check soil types and geology for a site (SGU)
Geology governs foundations, excavation and dewatering, so an early picture of the ground conditions saves both time and risk. Yesper fetches SGU's data (the Geological Survey of Sweden), summarises soil type and expected conditions, and can show the soil distribution on a map. Most valuable early on and ahead of designing ground and foundation works.
How to do it in Yesper
- State the location in the chat, or point to the project material in Secure folders.
- Ask Yesper to fetch soil types and geological information from SGU.
- Ask for a map of the soil type distribution.
- Review in Yesper and include it in the design material.
Settings & tips
- Point out the source SGU to speed up and steer the search.
- Add your own geotechnical survey report (MUR) to Secure folders and it is interpreted together with the SGU data.
Example prompts
Which soil types are present at our project according to SGU?
Summarise soil types and soil depth along road 52 between sections 0/000 and 1/800 according to SGU, interpret what it means for excavation and foundations, and show the soil distribution on a map.
FAQ
Can I get it on a map?
Yes, the soil distribution is shown in the chat.
Can I combine it with our own MUR?
Yes, add it to Secure folders and it is taken into account.
Does it work per road section?
Yes, state sections or a stretch.
