Summary

Machine room · Item 9

The new rack is 7 in. wider than the machine room door

The rack is 41 in. wide (specs, p. 14). Door 112 is a 3'-0" hollow metal door per the 2009 door schedule on A-601, about 34 in. clear with the leaf open 90°. Floor plan R-101 shows the door without dimensions.

Measure the opening and decide whether to pull the frame, open the exterior wall to the yard, or have the rack shipped split.

Sales floor · Item 20

The new freezer island lineup has no floor sink within 30 ft

Specs p. 11 assume case drains connect to existing floor sinks. Per as-built P-101, the nearest one, FS-2, is 30 ft from Row D, where eight islands need indirect waste.

Price saw-cutting, underslab waste piping, new floor sinks and floor patching, or submit an RFI before bids are due.

Sales floor · Item 21

Existing refrigerant lines to Row B run in a floor trench, not above the ceiling

Specs p. 9 assume line removal above the ceiling. As-built R-001 shows a floor trench from the machine room, about 150 LF in the sales floor and 20 LF through the electrical room.

Lift a trench cover on site. The trench has to be emptied and filled with concrete or plated over, with new floor finish.

Method

  1. Every demolition and new-work item on R-101 and in the case schedule was placed on the plan and numbered in the order it is passed on a walk from the loading dock to the roof.
  2. Each item was checked against the specifications and the General Conditions to decide what has to be verified on site before the price can be locked, and tied to a cost item.
  3. The 2009 refrigeration, power, plumbing and door schedule as-builts were overlaid on the new plan. Where they show conditions R-101 doesn't, or that contradict the specs, the item was put on the Not shown on drawings layer.
  4. Each item references its document and page, sheet or row.

Assumptions and limitations

  • The as-builts are from 2009 and may be out of date. Confirm the items under Not shown on drawings on site before pricing them.
  • Dimensions and distances are scaled from the 1/8" = 1'-0" drawings and rounded to the nearest foot.
  • Refrigerant and power are covered only as items to verify. Refrigerant recovery at removal falls under EPA's Section 608 rules (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F: no venting, certified technicians and recovery equipment); HFC refrigerant management is also subject to EPA's AIM Act rules in 40 CFR Part 84.
  • Status and notes entered on this page stay until the page is reloaded. Transfer them to the site walk record afterward.
