Summary

Cost drivers

36% of the net sits in 25 items

The 25 largest items, 2.6% of the 974, add up to SEK 55.3 m. Half of the net sits in 47 items, while the 491 items below SEK 50,000 make up 8% together.

Price certainty

10 of the 25 cost drivers have no firm price

SEK 25.4 m of the cost drivers rests on budget quotes (7 items, including the four EV-60E-760-1:15 switches and the contact line subcontract) or on the estimator's judgement (3 items: mast foundations, contaminated soil and platform shelters).

Request firm quotes for these before the tender is submitted.

Unit rates

4 unit rates deviate more than 40% from the resource bank

Mast foundations work out at SEK 36,800 each against 20,600 in the resource bank (+79%). Ballast in sub-area 2 is +55%, platform edge installation +47% and the sub-base in sub-area 4 −46%.

Detailed estimate by item

Each rectangle is one item, sized by amount and coloured by price certainty. Group by work package, cost type, sub-area or price certainty, click a group heading to open it and click an item to see its quantity, unit rate and basis. The Pareto curve shows how fast the net accumulates from the largest item down.

All work packages

Faded items fall outside the current filter. Group areas follow the net estimate, so the treemap always adds up to SEK 152.4 m.

Method

  1. Each work package amount in the net estimate was split into items using the MF quantities, the quotes and the resource bank, keeping the work package total fixed.
  2. Each item was coded by work package (arbetspaket), cost type (kostnadsslag 11–51, the company's own cost type codes), sub-area (delområde DO0–DO4, from the AF) and price certainty A–D.
  3. The unit rate of each item is its amount divided by its quantity. Where the resource bank has a rate for the same work, the two were compared.
  4. The items were sorted by amount and accumulated into the Pareto curve. The 25 largest are counted as cost drivers.
  5. The sum of the items was checked against the net estimate per work package. The difference is 0 kr in all ten.

Assumptions and limits

  • Amounts are net costs excluding VAT, contractor's fee and risk, at the October 2026 price level.
  • Price certainty: A firm quote, B non-binding budget quote, C experience rate from the resource bank, D estimator's judgement without a reference.
  • A deviation of more than ±40% from the resource bank is flagged. A flag points to an item to check, not to an error.
  • Item texts are kept as written in the estimate. Track possessions and the time plan have not been priced separately.
  • Material supply follows this contract's AF: the contractor procures rail, sleepers and switches. On other Trafikverket contracts rail and switches can be client-supplied, which would take those items out of the estimate. The switch types EV-60E-760-1:15 and EV-60E-300-1:9 are Trafikverket standard single turnouts (TDOK 2013:0478). Unit rates for rail (about SEK 690/m), sleepers (SEK 640 each) and ballast (about SEK 250/t) come from the quotes and the resource bank and are the company's own pricing assumptions.
